No matter whether you have an asynchronous three-phase motor or synchronous servo drive, the COMBIVERT F5 frequency inverter takes control.

The modular software meets the highest demands in terms of speed, torque and breakaway torque, with and without encoder feedback. Uniform operation, identical handling and the same tools are great little aids when carrying out practical work during installation, start-up and servicing tasks.

FILTERS AND CHOKES

COMBILINE

“Automation with drive” stands for system solutions from automation to mechanical movement. EMC technology is integrated into KEB’s portfolio and is one of the components that optimise the mains-side or motor-side connection. In practice, EMC technology is integrated into drive controllers, or alternatively implemented as a modular solution for single or combined axes. In addition to ensuring compliance with valid standards, the goal of EMC technology is to ensure maximum operational reliability of machines and systems.

ACCESSORIES

DRIVE CONTROLLERS

Choose the right accessories for your frequency inverter. In order for your devices to work efficiently, they must be optimally integrated into the drive system. Components such as cables and braking resistors are available for this purpose. For start-up and diagnostics tasks, various adapters and operators are used to communicate with the drives.

STANDARD PERMANENT MAGNET BRAKE

COMBIPERM P1

The COMBIPERM P1 is a powerful permanent magnet brake with a frictionally engaged, backlash-free effect. In the energised state, the magnetic field of the permanent magnet is cancelled and the connected component can rotate without residual torque. In the event of an emergency stop or if the power is switched off, the safety brake engages, brakes and holds the drive safely in position. Thanks to the short switching times and the compact design, these brakes are ideal for servo motors and the medical industry.

The standard brake has a torque range of 0.1 to 194 Nm.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE PERMANENT MAGNET BRAKE

COMBIPERM P2

The COMBIPERM P2 is a very compact and powerful permanent magnet brake with a frictionally engaged, backlash-free effect. In comparison with the COMBIPERM P1, the brake has a shorter assembly space and requires less power for increased performance. In addition, due to its structure, it can also be used in temperatures as low as -40°C.

The high-performance brake has a torque range of 0.8 to 75 Nm.

PERMANENT MAGNET CLUTCH

COMBIPERM PC

Our COMBIPERM PC is a permanent magnet clutch which uses frictional engagement to transmit torque in the de-energised state. This means that high torques can be reliably transmitted in small assembly spaces. The frictionally engaged connection opens when a voltage is applied, cancelling out the force action of the permanent magnets.

The permanent magnet clutch has a torque range of 6 to 120 Nm.

ELECTROMAGNETIC BRAKE

COMBINORM B

The operating current brake COMBINORM B opens when the power supply is switched off or in the event of a power failure. The electromagnetic brake is particularly suitable for precise positioning and reliable holding. It is also used in safety and access technology, e.g. in the area of access barriers or fire doors. The electromagnetic brake is designed for a 100 % duty cycle and can optionally be certified to VdS.

The electromagnetic brake has a torque range of 0.5 to 500 Nm.

ELECTROMAGNETIC CLUTCH

COMBINORM C

The operating current clutch COMBINORM C provides clutch engagement when electrically powered. As a result it enables particularly simple controlled switching on and off of functional parts. The electromagnetic clutch is suitable for reliable positioning and torque transmission of switchable shaft connections in synchronised processes.

The electromagnetic clutch has a torque range of 0.5 to 500 Nm.

ELECTROMAGNETIC TOOTH CLUTCH

COMBINORM T

Like the COMBINORM C, the operating current clutch COMBINORM T engages when electrically powered. However, this device is designed as an electromagnetically operated tooth clutch. Through the positive connection, particularly large torques are transmitted in both directions within a small space by restricting the speed of incidence. In the process, torque is applied by the leading faces of hardened serrations and is backlash-free.

The electromagnetic tooth clutch has a torque range of 21 to 390 Nm.

CLUTCH-BRAKE-COMBINATION

COMBIBOX

The COMBIBOX clutch-brake-combination combines an electromagnetic brake and a clutch in ready-to-install housing. The patented adjustment procedure allows the air gap to be readjusted in its installed condition, which considerably extends the service life of the wear-affected friction elements. The units designed for start/stop operation significantly reduce energy consumption due to a continuously running drive.

ENERGY-LESS HOLDING AND COUPLING

KEB bistable brakes and clutches, also known as flip-flop brakes or clutches, make it possible to maintain the switching status without any further power supply. Switching is carried out via a short current pulse exclusively to change the switching state. This results in energy savings of up to 99 % in comparison with conventional clutches, depending on the duty cycle.
KEB’s bistable products achieve maximum energy efficiency and are ideally suited for use in battery-powered vehicles as a parking brake, in door and power liftgate systems, and in air-conditioning compressors.

HIGH TORQUE IN THE DE-ENERGISED STATE

KEB spring-applied clutches are characterised by particularly high torque and operating safety. Electromagnetic spring pressure clutches use spring force to stop the frictional joint connection, which is cancelled out by electromagnetic force in the opposite direction.
KEB spring pressure clutches are used in cases where particularly high torque needs to be safely transferred, e.g. in conventional hybrid drives where the assemblies have to be adapted exactly to the specific customer application.

RECTIFIER

COMBITRON 91

COMBITRON 91 rectifiers are half-wave or bridge rectifiers for supplying electromagnets with a supply voltage of up to max. 720 V AC for DC or AC side switching in accordance with the 73/231/EEC Low Voltage Directive. When switching electromagnetic clutches and brakes and other inductive DC consumers, harmful electromagnetic interference can occur. Our half-wave rectifier with interference suppression limits the interference to class A in accordance with EN 55011.

POWERBOX ECO/FAST-ACTING RECTIFIER

COMBITRON 98

With the COMBITRON 98, KEB offers a fast-acting rectifier with overexcitation for optimum activation or deactivation times for spring-applied brakes and electromagnets. Two powerbox designs in rigid housing for fitting on DIN rails or as a screw-on version complete the range. The advantages of COMBITRON 98 become clear in practice, as faster switching times and the possibility of achieving significant energy savings make the fast-acting rectifier a highly sought-after “assistant”.
